One of my first trips to the Denver Botanic Gardens for their Orchid Show. I had never seen a Lady Slipper Orchid with this vibrant of a green on it. What made it really stand out to me was the red striation on the lip of it. A deep burgundy, it appeared at first a defect but then developed into a story for me. A scar or birthmark, this orchid was sure defined by this mark, determined to flourish regardless of it's circumstances.
