This is my second piece in this medium. I just started to draw and paint after being on a 30yr hiatus. I love animals as subjects. I am trying to achieve a high level of realism and have been continually refining my techniques. I fell in love with Pastel as a medium. I love the immediacy and breath of styles that can be accomplished. The subject for this piece is my son's cat Millie. Being a Calico I thought she would be a good challenge being primarily black with the trademark Calico color markings.
