"Racing the Storm" is inspired by the changeable Florida weather and wildlife. I am primarily a plein air painter and was painting a storm rolling in when I saw the herons. Rain came before I could paint them so I snapped photos for later and made a large scale painting in my studio. I work on Ampersand Pastelbord using Mount Vision pastels primarily.
