Telephone Poles!

These electric poles are out in a field along the Platte River, and against all common sense on a boiling hot June day I decided to paint these just around noon. The perspective these electric poles help draw the eye into the clouds (which I added last-minute) and back into the foothills and sparse trees in the background. The bone-dry foreground I felt contrasted well with all the blue in the sky and helped balance out the painting.
