What is it like to be leaf falling from the tree? Changing colors? Becoming soil? This drawing moves with the questions. To create the piece I collected leaves on the ground and used them to create voids in the fixative I applied to layers of pastel. Through applications and erasure of pastel forms emerge, disappear, and blend.
