This Line Shack is on a ranch in the mountains of Colorado. It is used by the cowboys in the spring and fall as they herd the cattle to and from the rich feeding grounds during the summer. The rich colors, fresh air and strong water reflections inspired me to paint this and share it with the owner of the ranch. I used a photo reference in my studio and spent several days creating it on UArt 400 sanded paper, first tinting the paper with a red orange pastel and turpentine wash. Then finished the painting with soft pastels. What a fun day I had when I met the owner of the ranch and presented him the finished painting at a small mountain town cafe!
