This painting started out as a portrait of this girl with a magnificent Colorado background. But then, as so often happens, I realized that I liked how the image of the girl was coming and was bored painting the background. So I basically didn’t finish the painting. This is confession. I thought that anything else I did to this would basically ruin it. It was difficult for me to allow this to be unfinished—so I declare that it is, in fact, finished. Also, I got Covid, and that sort of settled the question.
