These palms along the Riviera Maya in Mexico provided a welcome rest from the hot summer sun. The sketch for this piece was done plein air and then completed in the studio. There is a watercolor underpainting in Payne’s grey and Van Dyke brown. The warm colors take me back to the heat of that day.
