This rugged rock formation really caught my my eye with its amazing textures and colors. I did a dark cordovan under painting to establish the major shapes and values and added several layers of various colors to convey the dramatic geology of the main rock formation. I sharpened the edges of the details with pastel pencils to bring the center of interest “into focus”.
