I was enjoying the activity on the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe during a summer visit a few years ago. Many of the benches were occupied with people enjoying ice cream and the beautiful weather. When I later reviewed my photos, I found this group and was inspired by the colors and the body language of the four members of the family. I wanted to paint a portrait of summer fun in soft pastels.
