"Release" was inspired by a beautiful young dancer who graciously posed for several of us. As she prepared for the next pose, she would sometimes take a moment to collect herself and get mentally ready for the pose. She released the distractions and allowed herself to enjoy the moment. The painting was done on velour paper using Rembrandt, Nupastel and Caran d'Ache pastel pencils.
