Otterly Amazing. Pastel. While sailing on Monterey Bay we came upon the mother and baby floating in the kelp. inspiration popped up right away! Back in my studio I sketched the family and transferred it to sanded paper. Adding a waterbed paint I created shapes and depths. Continuing on by adding hard pastels working my way up to the softest pastels. I used pastel pencils here and there to create an edge. I am happy with the expression they had as they chattered to us.
