Pastel is the medium to create this painting . Inspiration is from a boat trip to the Pacific Northwest. The sea mist and colors were amazing. I start my paintings with a drawing, then onto adding a wash of water based paints. When dry I begin the shapes with hard pastels working my way up to the softest buttery pastels. I might add an edge using pastel pencils to complete the paining.
