paradise fruit

paradise fruit
I just felt in love when I saw this beautiful stillife photo from Jill Wellington. I just wanted to paint this scene and asked her about permission and she gave me her agreement. As I painted with my pastels I felt set back in my childhood. My parents are both from turkey and so I ate a lot of pomegranates. My mother always said to me, "Menili, don´t let the seeds of the pomegranate fall down to the ground! The pomegranate is a paradise fruit." On the one hand I was addicted to this fruit on the other hand I was so excited to don´t let fall one of the seeds.
I hope you can also see the exclusivity of this scene and the paradise that is almost excisting around us. We must save the nature and receive our paradise.
