Life is no candy shop
Life is not a candy store? Is that so?
In a candy store, which in my childhood was the kiosk next to the school, you take what you like best. In life, it's more like you take what you get and make the best of it.
Many of the sweets pictured are familiar if you were a kid in Germany in the 70s. Even today, the taste and appearance are still associated for me with memories of this very kiosk next to the school and hot summer days in the swimming pool. Back then, the smallest candy cost 5 pfennigs, which are also just souvenirs. Literally, therefore, sweet memories.
The picture was taken in early 2022 and thus coincides with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This event shows in all clarity that in life you are often miles away from being able to choose what you get.
Since this event really shocked me and left me disbelieving and helpless, I made a few small changes in this picture that capture this moment (the sugar clock shows an unusual time, the drop dispenser has a changed letter and the sugar lipstick has changed its label).
