Roses are a favorite subject, and for good reason! Their form, color, and soft texture lend themselves to endless exploration in painting and composition. As an avid glower, I've spent many an day caring for and cultivating them, and as an artist countless hours studying their beauty. This piece was a particular joy to create as it allowed me to use some of my favorite grays and soft neutrals to properly depict the nuances of these warm cream roses.
